The DS404 diff refers to the Dana Spicer DS404, a heavy-duty, single-reduction forward tandem drive axle differential. Commonly manufactured in collaboration with Eaton, it is primarily used in Class 8 commercial semi-trucks and heavy vocational vehicles to manage up to 40,000 lbs of axle weight.
